A beautiful, custom, off the grid home with spectacular views.

Apx. 1700 sq ft. interior space. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, office, utility room, entry room, kitchen/dining area adjacent to very large living room. Vaulted ceilings, natural adobe floors in two rooms, local sandstone floors in bathroom, kitchen and dining area.

 Off Grid Systems

  •  Solar and wind electrical system.  2 KW Photovoltaic panels and 400 watt AirX wind turbine.  Bluy Sky and Trace PV controllers. 1000 AH HUP Solar One Battery for electrical storage.  4KW Xantrex(Trace) inverter for all your 120 VAC needs. The house is wired with both 120 VAC(the normal grid electric system) and 24VDC for DC specific applications like the solar designed SunFrost Refrigerator.

  •  Heating and cooling is solar, thermal mass and air flow.  All systems are passive and architecturally incorporated in the structual design of the entire house.  The individual systems symbiotic with each other.  There is a wood stove in the living room for additional heat if wanted in the early mornings, long cold cloudy periods, or those times coming in from snowy play or work.

  •  Water Catchment and storage.  The roof design allows for 100% water catchment.  Cistern storage of apx 10,000 gallons of water for all in home needs.  The Water Organizer Module provides particle filtered water for bathing and washing, and utilizes a silver impregnated ceramic element for drinking water needs. The Katadyn ceramic filter used for drinking water filtration is approved by the US Military and the Red Cross for use world wide in the most demanding water resource areas.  There is a 1200 gallon external water tank on a hill near the house for gravity fed outside use.

The property has a year round spring that has been developed for pumping directly to the house and external tank.   The spring is used for backup when the rainfall does not provide enough for house needs and for outside uses.

Out buildings include a 200 sq ft shop with AC & DC power.  The shop is constructed to provide a freeze proof structure in the winter without any heat other than solar and thermal mass.  A hay storage room connected to a small barn located inside a large corral is a short distance from the house.  A small camper converted art studio with built in solar and water storage.
